PRP & GFC Hair Treatment in Bangalore Advanced Growth Factor Therapy for Hair Restoration

Introduction

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) are two of the most scientifically advanced and clinically validated regenerative treatments available for hair loss and hair thinning. At Ariah Aesthetics in Bangalore, we offer both PRP and the newer, more potent GFC protocol — providing our patients with the most effective regenerative hair restoration options available. These treatments harness the concentrated power of your own biological growth factors to reactivate dormant follicles, reduce shedding, and stimulate meaningful, natural hair regrowth.

What Is PRP & GFC Hair Treatment?

PRP & GFC are advanced autologous therapies that utilize a concentrated sample of your own blood to accelerate tissue repair and cellular regeneration without the risk of allergic reaction.
"While PRP concentrates platelets to 3–5x baseline, GFC uses advanced processing to extract specific growth factors—including PDGF, VEGF, and EGF—at significantly higher therapeutic concentrations for superior results."

01. The GFC Advantage

Next-Generation Growth Factors

Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) provides a significantly higher concentration of essential proteins (PDGF, VEGF, EGF) compared to standard PRP, delivering a more potent stimulus to the hair follicles.

02. Activation

Follicular Revival

Activates dormant follicles and shifts them into the Anagen (growth) phase, effectively reducing hair fall and promoting the emergence of new strands.

03. Volumizing

Density & Strength

Increases the diameter of existing hair shafts, leading to visible improvements in hair thickness, strength, and overall scalp coverage.

04. Safety Profile

Autologous & Biocompatible

Derived entirely from your own blood, these treatments are 100% biocompatible with zero risk of allergic reactions or systemic side effects.

05. Versatility

Universal Application

A highly effective, minimally invasive solution for both male and female pattern hair loss, and can be seamlessly integrated with other restoration protocols.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate?

Patients with early to moderate androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss), diffuse hair thinning, alopecia areata (selected cases), or chronic telogen effluvium. Most effective in patients who still have viable follicles — those with complete baldness in an area may not respond.

Procedure Details

A small blood sample (10–30mL) is drawn. For PRP: the sample is centrifuged once to concentrate platelets. For GFC: an advanced processing protocol extracts purified growth factor concentrate. The scalp is cleansed and anesthetized with a topical or local anaesthetic. PRP or GFC is then injected across the scalp using a fine needle at precise intervals targeting the follicular level. Sessions take 45–60 minutes. A course of 3–4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended, followed by maintenance every 6 months.

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

  • Stay well hydrated and eat a nutritious meal before your appointment
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 5–7 days
  • Wash hair the morning of your appointment
  • Disclose all current medications and supplements to your physician

Post-Treatment Care & Recovery

  • Avoid washing hair for 12–24 hours post-treatment
  • Mild scalp tenderness for 24–48 hours is normal
  • Avoid blood thinners for 24 hours after the session
  • Do not colour or chemically treat hair for 1 week
  • Maintain prescribed scalp care and hair supplements as advised

Results & Expectations

Reduced hair fall is typically noticed within 4–8 weeks of starting treatment. Visible new hair growth and increased density are usually apparent at 3–6 months after completing the initial course. Maintenance sessions every 6 months sustain results long-term.

Risks & Safety

As autologous treatments, PRP and GFC carry virtually no risk of allergic reaction. Mild scalp tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, and temporary swelling at injection sites resolve within 24–48 hours. Infection risk is minimized through strict sterile technique.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) uses an advanced processing technique to extract purified growth factors at significantly higher concentrations than standard PRP, potentially offering more potent stimulation of follicular regeneration.

An initial course of 3–4 monthly sessions is recommended, followed by maintenance every 6 months.

Most patients experience both — initial reduction in hair fall followed by progressive new growth and improved density at 3–6 months.

PRP/GFC works by reactivating dormant follicles. Areas that are completely bald (no follicles remaining) will not respond. Early treatment before significant follicle loss delivers the best outcomes.

Yes. Combination therapy is often more effective than any single treatment. Your physician will advise on the optimal protocol.
